This Little Piggy went to Al's cooler....

I think it is about time I started to blog. I have often thought about starting one, but quite honestly, as soon as I try to make one I stress out too much about making an interesting title and quit before I even begin. When personal emails began (does that make me sound old??) I remember also stressing and procrastinating until I finally decided to go for it and used my name as my email, how uninteresting can you get? Blake started up his blog again tonight after about 3 years of silence and so I figured I would also try again. We sat here for about 20 minutes while Blake tried to think of names for my new blog and I continually shut his ideas down. I finally thought of this quote I once said and that he has never let me forget and so I decided to go for it. Thus begins my blog.

This morning I semi-woke up to the alarm and managed to turn it all the way off before getting out of bed. Half an hour later I woke up and had to quickly get up. Al and George were coming over this morning to help us slaughter our pig. My first task was to empty the truck of firewood, then came inside to make some biscuit cinnamon buns for the guys when they came over. Blake then came home from his mens-way-too-early-in-the-morning meeting and we had breakfast and chopped firewood until it was time to end our little piggy's life. I couldn't actually watch him shoot it, but came right after and helped with all the rest. It was actually kinda fun, and seemed to go pretty smooth and quick, the whole scraping the hair off and gutting it and everything. I think we are planning on butchering it early next week.

The rest of the day consisted of more firewood, dropping by to give Grandpa his chainsaw back, washing the truck (insurance runs out today), chopping more firewood, eating supper, making a list of things I need to finish before we go on our trip, and now writing my very first official blog entry.

I think I am now going to sit with the man of my dreams and drink a cup of hot apple cider...a good end to a busy day I think!
